This policy explains how MyBrandKit (mybrandkit.co.uk), run by Smart Website Designers Ltd, Swansea, Wales (“we”, “us”), collects and uses personal data when you visit our website or use our tools. We are the data controller for this data. Questions? Email hello@mybrandkit.co.uk.
What we collect
- Information you type into our tools – business names, descriptions, website addresses and similar details you enter so a tool can generate your logo, copy, documents or report.
- Account details – if you subscribe: your username, email address and membership level.
- Payment details – payments are taken by Stripe. We receive confirmation of the payment, the amount and your email address, but never your full card number.
- Usage and device data – pages visited, the tools you use, approximate location (country/region), browser and device type, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie Policy).
- Messages – anything you send us by email or through a form.
How and why we use it
- To run the tools and give you your results (contract).
- To manage subscriptions, one-off purchases, licence keys and support requests (contract).
- To keep records for tax and accounting (legal obligation).
- To understand how the site is used and improve it, and to keep it secure (legitimate interests).
- To show advertising, which keeps many tools free to try (consent for personalised ads, legitimate interests for non-personalised ads).
- To send product updates and offers, only where you have agreed or are an existing customer, with an unsubscribe link in every email (consent / legitimate interests).
Who we share it with
We use trusted service providers who process data on our behalf:
- AI providers – Anthropic (Claude) and Google (Gemini) process the details you enter into a tool to generate its output. Please don’t enter sensitive personal information into the tools.
- Stripe – payment processing.
- Google – Google Analytics (site statistics) and Google AdSense (advertising). Google may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites, where you consent. See how Google uses data from partner sites.
- Hosting – Vercel and WPX Hosting host the website and tools.
- Email – Resend (transactional emails) and Klaviyo (marketing emails).
- Pexels – stock images used in the website mockup tool (no personal data is sent).
We never sell your personal data. Some providers are based outside the UK (mainly the USA); where that happens, transfers are protected by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, Standard Contractual Clauses or the UK–US data bridge.
How long we keep it
- Tool inputs are used to generate your result and are not stored in a database by us. Some results and usage counts are saved only in your own browser.
- Account data is kept while your account is active and for up to 2 years afterwards.
- Payment and invoice records are kept for 6 years for tax purposes.
- Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to access, correct, delete or move your data, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time (for cookies, use the “Privacy and cookie settings” link that appears on the site). Email hello@mybrandkit.co.uk and we will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
MyBrandKit is a business service and is not intended for anyone under 18.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
